FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Please note: Each piece is handmade — ring by ring — and subtle imperfections are a natural part of the process. These details aren’t flaws; they’re a sign that your piece was crafted by hand, not machine. Every piece is tumbled to a smooth finish before clasps are attached, which helps minimize any surface marks, if present at all.
Are purchases final sale?
I don’t currently accept returns. I stand behind the quality of my work, and this policy helps minimize the environmental impact of excess shipping and packaging. I do have exceptions, please visit my refund policy page for more information.
When will I get my order?
Each piece is handmade with care, so please allow up to 5 business days to process your order. While I aim to ship orders as quickly as possible, this window provides a buffer during periods of high demand. Once it ships, you’ll receive an email with tracking details. Delivery times vary depending on your location.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location and the items in your order. You’ll always see the full shipping cost before completing your purchase. Most chains fall under the 4 oz weight threshold, so even multiple pieces typically ship at the same low rate.
What metal do you use?
I primarily work with 304 stainless steel and am in the process of introducing NuGold. As my collection evolves, I plan to offer select pieces in precious metals as well. Click the links to learn more about each material, also located in the footer of every web page.
Is your jewelry waterproof / tarnish-proof?
304 Stainless Steel can handle everyday water exposure thanks to the protective chromium layer that prevents tarnishing, rust, and corrosion. It will never turn your skin green. However, prolonged contact with harsh conditions like salt water, chlorine, or strong chemicals can eventually wear down this protective layer and dull or damage the finish. Some prefer the natural matte or aged look over a shiny finish. To keep your jewelry looking shiny, avoid exposing to these harsh environments whenever possible.
NuGold, while durable, is more reactive to moisture and can darken or develop tarnish if left wet. It's best to remove NuGold jewelry before washing hands / getting in water. Copper is known to turn skin green but this typically happens with tighter fitting jewelry like rings due to a chemical reaction between the metal and your sweat - think the statue of liberty or a penny. Looser pieces like bracelets tend to cause less or no skin discoloration since air circulation reduces moisture buildup and the copper’s reaction with skin is minimized.
When will out of stock sizes be re-stocked?
Each bracelet is handwoven using rings sourced from WEAVEGOTMAILLE and clasps from PANDA HALL. If something is out of stock, it means I’m waiting on rings or other jewelry components to be delivered. This usually takes about a week, but sometimes they have longer than normal processing times.
How are your products priced?
Each piece is priced based on the cost of materials and the time it takes to make. Smaller, more delicate designs often require extra precision and care, which can increase the price. The more intricate or unique the piece, the higher the cost may be. However, every piece is crafted to last a lifetime — a true investment in wearable art.
Will you be adding other products to your store?
Yes! I'm slowly adding necklaces, along with decorative chains you can attach to purses, wallets, or anything else that needs a little armor. I'm also always testing new weaves and when I love something, it goes live! Eventually, I plan to offer select pieces and accents in precious metals. I’m always working on new designs and will be sharing special pieces over time (e.g., chainmaille purses, belts, tops). Keep your eyes peeled or sign up for emails to stay notified.
How do I know what size to order?
I have a helpful sizing guide on each of my product pages as well as a compare page with sliders that allow you to see what a variety of weaves and sizes look like next to one another! If you need further help you can always reach out to me via the contact page. SUPERVIOLET jewelry is meant to be as custom of a fit as the weaves allow but if you don't mind potentially altering the cohesiveness of the piece I would be more than happy to add extra links for sizing at your request.
Who makes the jewelry?
Hey! My name is Melanie, and it's a pleasure to have you here and curious. I had so much fun building this company so I could share this passion with you — and the challenges along the way were truly rewarding. If you want to check out the origin story of SUPERVIOLET, or learn more about the maker herself (myself?), click [here].
Where do you get your materials?
I get my rings from a company called WEAVEGOTMAILLE. Their metals are sourced 100% in the USA. My clasps are from a company called PANDA HALL (china) but I will be adding other options soon.
Do you offer other weave sizes or custom options?
I love exploring new weaves and sizes, and I look forward to expanding the collection over time. The sizes currently available are what I've found (so far) to be the strongest structurally while also balancing great space and fluid design. If you're curious about something specific/custom or have a question, feel free to reach out — I’m always happy to chat.
