RESISTANCE DEFINES WHAT IS POSSIBLE.

I see my work with steel as a conversation between artist and medium. Shape emerges through exploring the limits of the metal and in turn my limits in strength.  Each piece is a record of that exchange: the pressure, the shift, the art of bending without breaking.  

Born out of the tension between self and the will to change, SUPERVIOLET reflects my ability to transmute challenge into opportunity, and tension into creation.

YEAR ONE
Choosing a medium and committing to it is an act of discipline, patience and curiosity.  I've spent hours carefully researching and building out a single spreadsheet with pages for notes, conversions, calculators for pricing sheets and anything else my heart desires for navigating the quickly changing landscape of my mind.  It's helped me stay focused and organized while allowing my curiosity the freedom to roam.  I learned so many weaves and chose the ones I found to have the most favorable or interesting physics.  

YEAR TWO
This is where I am at right now, I truly love the weaves in their simplest forms but I trust that I've built a solid foundation for beginning the journey of deviating from the known.  I look forward to doing more abstract one of a kind pieces as well as new combinations of previous forms.
